This is my girl when she turns 2 months... her face is more chubbier and she's getting big. she love to play, making noises saying ah, ohh.. she tried to lift her legs. she found her hands now. she suck her fist when she's hungry.

A Big Disaster of Typhoon Ondoy

September 26,2009 was a big tragedy in Metro Manila.

Typhoon Ondoy is a disaster that exposed many hidden weaknesses in the government's preparedness for a calamity of this magnitude. Hundreds of people were trapped on the roofs of their homes as the flood heightened to drown them. They hoped in their heart of hearts that a rescue team will somehow emerge from the total darkness and bring them safely to a safe ground. But no one came. While people sent messages of help in their soaked and dying cellphones pleading for help, the Arroyo government went on closed-door meetings and media interviews, where a single second may have been significant in saving lives…In this kind of disaster, every second lost and may mean lost lives.

Hundreds of people were trapped, but very few rubber boats arrived for rescue. Many died, and those who survived had to be sobered by the fact that a few more hours of rain would have certainly killed them, had not the rain somehow diminished in the night. They had to wait in the morning to be rescued, spending the night cold, wet, hungry—but alive.
I remember my my friend told me the sad story and I was really felt bad about it. I wish I could help them but I'm too far away from them..Anyhow, my family are safe. They were on vacation this week in our province..Hopefully they can go back to manila for safe travel.

My precious girl is now 1 month old..she is such a blessing for us. we enjoy watching her and learn new things everyday she seems growing so fast. she now can see us.. its fun coz she can now follow us too. i was really amazed watching her eyes following us.
Today we have doctor appointment at 4pm.. Hopefully something good news for her.

Interview!

Yesterday was my USCIS initial interview for greencard. I was exhausted in the morning because I dont have much sleep from nursing my baby. I felt little bit nervous while waiting our names to be called and it took half hour sitting in a waiting area. I was wondering coz some other couples called ahead of us and besides were early than them...Finally the gentleman call my name and we follow him to his office. He told us to be sitted and he ask me if i know how to speak english and i said yes then he told us to swear and tell the truth for all his questions.. I felt nervous to answer him because he look strict to me but later on i felt calm and comfortable answering him. I realize that he was a nice person. He ask for our passports and my SSN and our ids and he gather all our documents. We had good conversation towards him and its like were talking to him like a friends.
Luckily were done.. and he told us our documents are fine. so I guess no problem with it.. so I was approved!

Sunday morning at 5am I woke up and felt to pee so when I got up something flowing ,I thought its my pee and i can't really believe it but it wasn't really a pee.On my mind i thought my water broke but I can't feel the pain right away so I didn't think I'm in labor. I didn't go back to bed that time. I was observing myself on whats happening on me. One hour later I started in pain and having hard contraction. when the contraction came hard, the water keeps flowing so I woke up my husband and tell whats happening to me. I was still doubting, I was really worried if we go to hospital and not time yet maybe the doctor will sent back home again..
My husband getting busy calling our doctor but he can't contact her but someone in the center answer and telling whats going on me. We decided to go hospital. I took a quick shower and starting to have hard contraction again and my water keeps flowing. I guess this is really is it. I only eat a little oatmeal for breakfast and my husband getting busy packing everything and load in the car.
About 8:30 in the morning we checked in the hospital and theysent me to birthing center. The nurse checked me and i was already 3cm dilated. She asked my urine sample and she saw my pads that has yellow on it. she said its a meconium i was really worried for that. one hour later, other nurse took a blood sample and she inserted a pinicilin. Every time i'm on pain i asked for medication. At 3pm the doctor checked on me again and I was already 5 cm dilated. this time my contraction getting worse and im on pain too much so i decided to have epidural. 10 munites later someone doctor came and he inserted the medication on me. I felt numb all over my legs and in my tummy I dont feel the hurts` anymore. I was so weak this time. Nurse told me to get some rest or nap when I can. She also inserted catheter on me because im not allowed to get up. About 6:30pm I can feel so much pressure on my butt everytime the contractions begin. the doctor came in and checked on me again. By this time I was already 9 and half cm dilated. oh my gosh I am really close to push. About 7pm the doctor checked on me again and I am finally 10 cm dilated. I really urge to push this time. so the nurse told me to try pushing and I did. I still remember many doctors and nurses around me and i don't care for men doctor. all in my mind is to concentrate in pushing . I kept praying and pushing this time. My husband was there with me and help me to push. All the doctors and nurses are very supportive. All i can hear from them is to say push and breath. I felt the head coming out and i only took a break to breath. The baby finally born at 7:40 pm. I was so amazed and very thankful to God. I did great! There's a tears on my eyes when i hear the baby cry. I know its a tears of joy and happiness.

False alarm experienced!

Yesterday at 4am I was already starting having bad contraction until evening.. In the morning, my contraction changed to mild until evening. I went to bed at 11 pm and I can't sleep until 3am. my contraction getting harder and when i pee its hurts even if I change position the hurt doesn't go away.. my husband can't sleep good too coz he is worried for me everytime im on pain he massage me. I tried to go back to sleep but the hurts wake me up always. At 3 am the hurts getting harder and harder so I wake up my hubby to go hospital. he is very supportive until then.. we load our bags and things in the car and we went to the hospital. when we got there my hubby get a wheelchair for me coz its hard for me to walk. we check in and they bring us to birthing center. The nurse check my weight before we enter the room and after that she sent us to the room. I change my clothes and she ask my urine sample.. we sit there for a moment and waiting for the nurse to come in.. in 10 mins, the nurse came in..so she start monitoring me, checking my blood and checking the heartbeat of the baby. while monitoring me she told me that the doctor will come in in a little while to check me. so when the doctor check my cervix she said i was dilated for 1 and half cm. and i was surprised my other doctor at center said i was already dilated at 2 cm in that day... I really can't believe coz i thought im already dilated like 3 to 4 cm. so the doctor tell us to check me again after in 1 hour if there is something changing on me. while waiting i took a nap and my contraction changed to mild. I was really confused., why its change like that. The doctor was confused too.. so she decided to check my vagina if i have infection.. In my other doctor she already check me for group b test and i was positive.. the doctor start checking on me.. oh my gosh..it was really terrible i was tense and panic coz i remember during my papsmer its not really good at all. the nurse told me to relax so the doctor can did it. it took a minute to check and i was really uncomfortable that time. finally she's done checking on me.. while waiting for the result i took a nap. after an hour the doctor came in to tell us the results.. I was positive so that means i had infection..the doctor said its yeast infection on my vagina. Since i was dilated 1 and half cm the doctor sent us home but she gave me medication for my infection first. and she told me to take tylenol pm so i can sleep. when we got home i went our room right away to sleep.. i was really super tired and sleepy. I slept 8 hrs on that day. I woke up 5 pm and I was hungry coz that time i dont eat lunch. after taking a shower i go down to eat. I can't believe coz i feel better no more pain not too much contraction I just feel normal. so until now i feel better. oh well, its false alarm experienced.. so crazy! I hope next time its really true labor:)

39 weeks

I am now 39 weeks for this time.. wow! I can't believe i made this far. this morning I thought i'm in labor coz i felt numb between my legs and my friend said thats the first thing to feel to start in labor but the numb goes away. after i did the laundry, i took a walk in our backyard. i hope it helps my body to exercise. I'm just being ready for a labor. well, let see what i feel for this week. more updates for me next time.. have a good day!

My swelling toenail!

My toenail today was swelling :( the nail was already growing under the skin since i couldn't pedicure for a long time coz its hard to do it and beside im too preggy. I didnt go to parlor here coz the last time i went they really didnt clean too much so i dont like it the way they clean. anyway.. its really hurt. last night i tried to trimmed it and put alcohol. the next morning it was getting worst its really puffed and red. today i pedicure and manicure myself even if its hard but i tried to do it. I was afraid to clean the swelling toenail but I had to cut the growing nail under it. i was moaning for the hurt but i sacrifice it. the puff coming out and its yuck.. so now i can't feel the hurt anymore i will just wait to heal. hopefully it will better soon..

Prenatal visit

It was my prenatal visit today. in my doctor due date it was july 28 so i am already 39 weeks. but i based on my ultrasound due date which is 31. we didn't wait for a long time coz the nurse already knew us so she call us to checked me for my blood pressure and weight. I only gained 1 pound for this week.. my tummy was already so tight and stretch so no more room for my baby to grow. The nurse checked me if I have contraction and checked me if im near in labor. she use a machine to it. It's really uncomfortable to lay down while checking on me but I had to sacrifice. the doctor monitoring on that for 20 mins but the contraction wasn't too bad yet. so I still have prenatal visit for next week unless the baby will come.

I feel bored today since i was just alone in the house. my hubby didn't go home for lunch coz they had a meeting today at work and the lunch is free. I look over the house and it was little messy to me. so i decided to clean around after i cooked. i vacuum the carpet, clean the electric fan and wipe some furniture. its nice to clean for this time coz when the baby is arrive i don't have time to clean anymore. Anytime by now my baby will come. I'm still hoping for a good labor and good delivery.

I am now 38 weeks of pregnant. I can't believe i made this far. time seems slow to me. I think im just anxious and excited to meet my little one. I know being a mother is hardest part of life. but i will try my very best to take care of my baby when she's arrive.

Saturday afternoon my husband and I went to bro house to stay there for grandpa's birthday. We had a wonderful dinner with them. We had nice bonding together. We watched a movie called fantasy island.. it was okay. then we went to bed after. I had trouble sleeping last night its because I didn't sleep together with my hubby and I was really sad coz there is only 1 single bed and its only enough for me my hubby slept on the floor i coudnt sleep with him because its hard for me to get up since i was super big so i had to sacrifice. I really dont sleep much last night. i kept waking up to go bathroom. In the morning we get up early for for church. we went to rocky mountain christian church, the church was huge.. and the service was alright. i like the worship. but i dont like much the sermon . so anyway.. we back home for lunch. mom and bro's went to store to get something for dad. i really like the gift. its jps for car direction. Today mom and dad gave something for my baby again.. its a crib.. I really thankful to them, they are so generous. I love them so much. Im glad i have in-laws like them. they are really amazing grand parents:)

Doctor Appointment

It was my Doctor Appointment today. As usual the nurse checked my blood pressure and my weight. I gained 2 pounds for this week and my blood pressure was really good. My doctor checked my tummy and checked the heartbeat of my little girl it was really good so far. Then we talk about my feelings for this time..My husband and I want to know if I am dilated coz lately I can feel more frequent contraction and its really uncomfortable. the baby is like pushing on my cervix and its little cramping. so, we told the doctor to check me. when my doctor checked me.. she said I am already dilated for 1 and half cm..so that's means my cervix is start opening for now. I had ultrasound for today too coz my doctor wants to know if the baby's head is down. Its so amazing because I saw my little one again even though its hard to see her on the machine but I was still happy to see her. My doctor said I can have my baby by tomorrow or in a couple of days but it just all depend on the baby when she's ready to come out:)

It's my nurse visit today. She brought me boppy and mosquito net for my baby. She also give me a book called first -year baby care which is nice coz i can read a lot information about when the baby is born. My nurse was really awesome, she take care of me and teach me lots of information for first time parents.

37 weeks

I am now 37 weeks of pregnant.My baby is now full term. I can't believe I have only few days to count. My baby weighs 6 1/2 pounds and measures 19inches long. My life is more difficult from now on because its heavy, hard to sleep hard to walk because my feet are still swelling. Also I feel frequently braxton hicks contraction its really uncomfortable because I feel like im having a labor already sometimes i can feel the pain. I always go to bathroom every hour at night to pee. Its really difficult for now but I always pray and ask guidence from God. I can feel that my baby is more decent now. I am now anxious to see my baby.:)

Today is my 36 weeks Doctor Appointment. My Doctor due date is July 28 but in my ultrasound its July 31. It's so confusing but I will just have to wait when the baby is arrive. Today she told us about my GBS test results and it was positive. I was little bit worried but the Doctor said its mostly common in pregnant women. All I need is to have IV antibiotics during labor. I told the Doctor about my feelings today coz i can feel burning when I pee. so they test my urine today if I have an infection. were waiting for a moment for the results and im glad its negative. no infection.:) 21 days more to go and I will have my little girl. My husband ask me if I am ready to have a baby and I said absolutely "yes". Actually im all packed and ready. Im just nervous and worried for the labor pain. Hopefully i can get through it. Goodluck with me and God guide me always!

My experience on baking cup cake!

I feel like to bake something so I decided to bake cup cake. My husband and I went to grocery store to get something and I also get flour cake for the cupcake. Last night we bake it. My husband help me with that since its my first time to bake. The cupcake stick on the pan because I didnt spray cooking oil all over but that is okay because its still taste very good. My husband like to put cherry topping on it and I only like plain.. Hopefully next time I bake it will make it perfect.

WIC Appointment!

Yesterday was our WIC Program appointment and we accidentally missed it.My husband remember the appointment in the afternoon but it was already late. because the time is 4pm and he remember almost 5pm. we really frustrated coz we missed our appointment. So he call and ask for another appointment. were still hoping that they will call us back. Today after my breakfast, i got a call from them that told us to have an appointment today so were so glad for that. I'm excited for that because this time we can get free fruits which is very good.

I am now 36 weeks of pregnant. My baby weighs almost 6 pounds. and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. My baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement. At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) Most likely she's in a head-down position. But if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an"external cephalic version" which is a fancy way of saying she'll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.

Happy 4th of July to all America. Independence Day is the national holiday of the United States of America commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At the time of the signing the US consisted of 13 colonies under the rule of England's King George III. There was growing unrest in the colonies concerning the taxes that had to be paid to England. This was commonly referred to as "Taxation without Representation" as the colonists did not have any representation in the English Parliament and had no say in what went on. As the unrest grew in the colonies, King George sent extra troops to help control any rebellion. In 1774 the 13 colonies sent delegates to Philadelphia Pennsylvania to form the First Continental In April 1775 as the King's troops advanced on Concord Massachusetts Paul Revere would sound the alarm that "The British are coming, the British are coming" as he rode his horse through the late night streets.Congress. The delegates were unhappy with England, but were not yet ready to declare war. The battle of Concord and its "shot heard round the world" would mark the unofficial beginning of the colonies war for Independence. The following May the colonies again sent delegates to the Second Continental Congress. For almost a year the congress tried to work out its differences with England, again without formally declaring war. By June 1776 their efforts had become hopeless and a committee was formed to compose a formal declaration of independence. Headed by Thomas Jefferson, the committee included John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Robert R. Livingston and Roger Sherman. Thomas Jefferson was chosen to write the first draft which was presented to the congress on June 28. After various changes a vote was taken late in the afternoon of July 4th. It's been a long day today. We hang out with Mom and Dad to Rocky Mountain and Estes Park. It's been a long drive but I had fun looking at the scenery.I wish to see deer in the rocky mountain but its seems hiding, it didn't come up. On our way back home . I saw a 3 deers beside the road. I was happy coz atleast i saw them at last. We didn't be able to go in the highest mountain because its not good for me since I'm still pregnant. the doctor said my water will break if i will go on high altitude. Hopefully when the baby is born we can go back there and see more further.

My sweeling feet!

I took a short walk in our backyard this afternoon since this can help for my swelling feet. All pregnant women may experience this on the third trimister of pregnant. My doctor said this is pretty normal. my blood pressure were good so i'm not really worried about this. If anyone experiencing like me here are some tips to minimize the puffiness:• Put your feet up whenever possible. At work, it helps to keep a stool or pile of books under your desk. At home, lie on your left side when possible.
• Don't cross your legs or ankles while sitting.
• Stretch your legs frequently while sitting: Stretch your leg out, heel first, and gently flex your foot to stretch your calf muscles. Rotate your ankles and wiggle your toes.
• Take regular breaks from sitting or standing. A short walk every so often will help keep your blood circulating.
• Wear comfortable shoes that stretch to accommodate the swelling.
• Don't wear socks or stockings that have tight bands around the ankles or calves.
• Try waist-high maternity support stockings. Put them on before you get out of bed in the morning so blood doesn't have a chance to pool around your ankles.
• Drink plenty of water. Surprisingly, this helps your body retain less water.
• Exercise regularly, especially by walking, swimming, or riding an exercise bike. Or try a water aerobics class — immersion in water may temporarily help reduce swelling, particularly if the water level is up near your shoulders.
• Eat well, and avoid junk food.
Try not to let pregnancy swelling get you down. The sight of your swollen ankles will probably add to your feeling of ungainliness, but edema is a temporary condition that will pass soon after you give birth.

35 Weeks 8 months!

My baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that she's over 18 inches long and weighs 5 1/4 pounds. Because it's so snug in my womb she isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times she kicks should remain the about the same. Her kidney are fully developed, and her liver can process some waste products. Most of her basic physical development is now complete. She'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight. By this time my practitioner will see me every week. from 34-37 weeks the doctor do Group B streptococci (GBS) test. This is to check the vagina if there is a bacteria. If you're a GBS carrier, you'll get IV antibiotics during labor, which will greatly reduce your baby's risk of infection.

My experience for Group B strepcocci(GBS) was just short and easy. I was nervous at first because I know the doctor will check my genital and i'm not comfortable with that at all. All pregnant women need to be test like this from 34-37weeks. They need to check if there is a bacteria in your vagina. I just pray and hope that I can pass this test. All of us want to be healthy all the time.

Why all pregnant women need to be tested for Group B streptococci (GBS)

The group B streptococcus (GBS) bacteria is usually harmless in healthy adults, but it can cause a relatively rare but very serious infection in newborns. (Group B is different from group A strep, the bacteria that causes strep throat.)Between 10 and 30 percent of pregnant women carry GBS bacteria in the vagina or rectal area, where they may pass it to their babies during labor or birth. With proper prenatal testing and treatment during labor, though, the risk is small.Without treatment, one or two out of every 200 babies born to "GBS positive" mothers would become infected with the bacteria and develop what's called early-onset GBS disease. The consequences can be very serious.

What will happen if I test positive?

A positive result means only that you carry the bacteria — not that you or your baby will definitely become ill. In fact, if you were GBS positive and didn't get treatment, your baby would have only about a 1 or 2 in 200 chance of becoming infected.Some practitioners have prescribed oral antibiotics for women who test positive to take during pregnancy — but this practice has not been found to prevent infection in newborns (the drugs won't always completely eliminate the bacteria and it can grow back later), and the CDC doesn't recommend it.So if you test positive, you'll need to have intravenous antibiotics as soon as your labor starts or your water breaks, whichever comes first. Ideally, you'll want to get started on the antibiotics at least four hours before you give birth, but if your labor is very rapid you may not have that much time. Take comfort that getting started even a couple of hours before delivery significantly lowers the risk to your baby.f you don't get your first dose four hours before the birth, you'll need to stay in the hospital for at least 48 hours after delivery so your baby can be observed for any signs of a problem. Try not to worry, though, because the chance that your baby will get sick — especially if he's full term, you don't have a fever, and your membranes aren't ruptured for long — is small.f, when you go into labor, you don't know whether you're carrying the bacteria, you'll be considered high risk and treated with antibiotics during labor if any of these situations occur.

. This is good since caffeine is a problem, but it's far from the only problem with drinking soda.

This is the sticky rice i made today. does it look yummy? It's just easy to cook. In Philippines we called it "biko". My Mom used to make this during holiday's especially christmas time. I remember my cousin in province, she use to stay in the house when we make sticky rice. Filipinos love this kind of food. Hope u will like this too..

My baby is now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds.

They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies. My life change by this week, by feeling fatigue, tiredness. If you've been sitting or lying down for a long time, don't jump up too quickly. Blood can pool in your feet and legs, causing a temporary drop in your blood pressure when you get up that can make you feel dizzy.
If you notice itchy red bumps or welts on your belly and possibly your thighs and buttocks as well, you may have a condition called pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP for short). Up to one percent of pregnant women develop PUPPP, which is harmless but can be quite uncomfortable. See your practitioner so she can make sure it's not a more serious problem, provide treatment to make you more comfortable, and refer you to a dermatologist if necessary. Also be sure to call her if you feel intense itchiness all over your body, even if you don't have a rash. It could signal a liver problem.

I supposed to wake up late today because I was tired last night but I woke up early maybe I was just excited for my baby shower. Mom and Dad bought me a nice cake for my baby shower its Peek a Boo with a little baby on it. My Mom was hosted for my 3rd baby shower. My guest are from her friends from the church and co teacher. some didn't able to attend but they gave me nice gifts for my little girl. I got lots of nice stuff today. I was really happy coz the people enjoyed and had fun for the games. Thank you so much guys for coming and for all the gifts you gave for my baby.:)

I've been busy today coz i need to do laundry need to pack clothes for travel. My husband and I were going to Colorado Spring for my 3rd baby shower. We left 5 oclock in the afternoon but were thinking to return first some stuff i got from the baby shower because I got it double. We also visit the new house from bro somewhere in Longmont. Its pretty nice place. its quiet and peace. its good to live in. Around 10pm were finally at my inlaws house. were both tired so we decided to sleep. When i'm in the bed i have so much in my thoughts about my baby shower because I will meet new people. I just pray that hope they are all nice and easy to talk with.

Today when my husband left, I can't go back to sleep because i heard the garage sounds weird. I keep waking up. I usually go back to bed because i always wake up at night. around 8:24am my husband texted me that the garage door wont close. so, I got up and went to kitchen to cook and prepare food for my husband. His bro came to help to fix the garage and finally fixed.

Like most mothers-to-be, I had been wondering what the baby would be and what it would look like. I had been wondering if she more like with Daddy or Mommy. But i wish more like daddy because I love Daddy's look especially his nose and eyes. Every night I always imagine what should my baby would be. HAIL RAIN

Last thursday (June 11,2009) i was experiencing rain with ice. I was really surprised with it because its my first time to see it. In Philippines I didn't experience like that because its always warm and humid in there. My husband told me that is called hail. so, i look up on internet what to makes hail.

Hail is a large frozen raindrop produced by intense thunderstorms, where snow and rain can coexist in the central updraft. As the snowflakes fall, liquid water freezes onto them forming ice pellets that will continue to grow as more and more droplets are accumulated. Upon reaching the bottom of the cloud, some of the ice pellets are carried by the updraft back up to the top of the storm. As the ice pellets once again fall through the cloud, another layer of ice is added and the hail stone grows even larger. Typically the stronger the updraft, the more times a hail stone repeats this cycle and consequently, the larger it grows. Once the hail stone becomes too heavy to be supported by the updraft, it falls out of the cloud toward the surface. The hail stone reaches the ground as ice since it is not in the warm air below the thunderstorm long enough to melt before reaching the ground.

This week my baby weighs a little over 4pounds and has passed the 17inches mark. She rapidly losing the wrinkled, alien look and her skeleton is hardening. The bones in her skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap.Thus making it easier for her to fit through the birth canal. The pressure on the head during birth is to intense that many babies are born with conehead-like appearance. These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as her brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood. My life will change as my baby fills out even more of my belly. I may be feeling some achiness and numbness in my fingers, wrist and hand. It's because like many other tissue in my body, those in my wrist can retain fluid, which can increase pressure in the carpal tunnel, a bony canal in my wrist. Nerves that run through this "tunnel" may end up pinched, creating numbness; tingling, shooting or burning pain; or a dull ache. that's the baby center says. If anyone pregnant like me im sure you will experience the same as me so just remember to stretch your hand when you takes break which should be frequently.

June 13,2009 :

This is my 2nd baby shower hosted by mom in laws. It was successful. we played many games like measuring the tummy, water brokes, finding the pin in the rice, tasting baby food, and a story telling about left and right. It was really fun. Most of my guest are American. My other filipina friends that i invited didn't come but one of my friend Cleo come to my baby shower. my friend ann didnt come too but she gave me lots of gifts which is wonderful. I'm glad i got many gifts again for my baby. I thank God for his blessing.

I woke up early today and started to clean the house for the preparation for my baby shower tomorrow in my home. I vacuum the carpet and wipe the furniture. I was tired but I'm finally finished. Next to do is to decorate. My husband asked me what color of ballons that I like. of course i like pink because its my favorite and also white to make it beautiful. I hope that many people will come to my baby shower so i have many gifts for my baby:)

I watch tv show today which is called Ruffa and Ai in TFC (The Filipino Channel).It's already June 12, 2009 in the Philippines. It's Independence Day . They were celebrating Independence Day. Charice Pempengco was singging the National Anthem. All employees in ABS-CBN was there to celebrate and all over in the Philippines. The Philippine Declaration of Independence occurred on June 12, 1898 in the Philippines, where Filipino revolutionary forces under General Emilio Aguinaldo (later to become the Philippines' first Republican President) proclaimed the sovereignty and independence of the Philippine Islands from the colonial rule of Spain after the latter was defeated at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War. The declaration, however, was not recognized by the United States or Spain, as the Spanish government ceded the Philippines to the United States in the 1898 Treaty of Paris, in consideration for an indemnity for Spanish expenses and assets lost. The United States recognized Philippine independence on July 4, 1946 in the Treaty of Manila. Car seat safety!

My husband and I attended for car seat safety classes today and we got some information about guidelines for best protecting child passengers.There are many laws about car seat all over in the United States. Here in Colorado the children must be in the car seat for safety. From newborn to 1 year old up to 20 or 30 pounds they must use infant carrier seat rear- facing only. For at least 1 year, 20 to 40+pounds they must use convertible or combination car seats. Use as forward-facing seats up to the maximum weight limit of the harness. For 4 to 8 years, they must use the booster seat along with the lap and shoulder belt. And for older than 8 years, they must use the lap and shoulder seat belt.We should follow the guidelines of Colorado law by keep our children safe. Car crashes are leading cause of death for people ages 3 to 33. Under Colorado's Child Passenger safety law says, infants and children must be properly buckled up when riding in motor vehicles. A driver can be ticketed and fined a minimum of 82$ for each unrestrained or improperly restrained. If anyone needs help installing their car seats they can go to local fire department for help with that.

I woke up early today and took a shower. I started to fix everything. I also separated the dirty clothes and the baby clothes i got from the baby shower and started to wash. while the clothes is in the laundry I clean the house and sweep the garage. the house was really dirty coz i was gone for couple of days. Now i feel better coz the house is clean again:)

The days passing so fast. I am now 32 weeks of pregnant. as you can see in my picture my tummy is more bigger.By now my baby weighs 3.75 pounds. and is about 16.7 inches long.taking up a lot of space in my uterus. I am gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to my baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb.

I was really disappointed. what i did is I repeat my blog again:( anyway.. im done with it. And today i had Doctor Appointment. we expect that our doctor wasn't there coz she is out of town. inside, we wait one and half already! oh my gosh!.. my day was really bad. I'm glad my husband know that im having bad day so he bought me chocolate shake to make me cool hehe.. Now i feel good!

Although new babies like to look and listen, they can only do it for short periods of time. Then they need a brief break. Your baby will signal the need for a break by doing one or more of these things:
= Looking away or turning her head
=Arching her back
=Breathing faster, harder of briefly holding her breath

=Starting
=Coughing or sneezing
=Hiccuping
=Spitting up
=Having a bowel movement

Make an appointment with your baby's doctor while you are still pregnant. Call to arrange a prenatal interview. and plan to spend 15 to 20 minutes together. Invite your partner to come along.
Discuss any special concerns you've had during pregnancy. Ask about office hours, what to do in a emergency. and which hospitals the health care provider works with. Find out whether some questions can be answered over the phone. Ask how soon after birth you should plan to bring your newborn in for the first check-up. Be sure the provider's service are covered by your health plan, or discuss payment options.

The learning and planning you have done in preparation for your baby's birth will ease your transition to parenting a newborn. You will be talking to one another.

BABY'S SLEEP/WAKE CYCLE:
Babies go through periods of being sleep. awake and crying. They go through these periods many times each day. Whether a baby is awake or asleep depends on what she needs. Over time these periods become more predictable.

HOW YOUR BABY USES SLEEP:
Babies have the marvelous ability to use sleep to shut out the noise and activity of others. By doing this they protect themselves from unnecessary stimulation. In quiet sleep their eyes are tightly shut, their breathing deep and regular, their body curled, closing out the world. After your baby is born you will be able to see how well he is able to shut out disturbing noises and activities. Even before birth, a developing baby can get used to and ignore activity. Here is something you can try after the sixth month.

When you know your baby is awake, ring a small bell or shine a flashlight near your abdomen for a few seconds. How does your baby respond?
Now do it again for a few seconds. How your baby respond this time?
Repeat this several more times to see what she/he will do.

This week, my baby measures over 16 inches long. She weighs about 3.3 pounds. She can turn her head from side to side, and her arms, legs and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumalates underneath her skin. She's probably moving a lot, too, so I may have trouble sleeping because my baby's kicks and somersaults keep me up. Take comfort all this moving is a sign that my baby is active and healthy.

I had a nurse visit today. we discussed about labor and birth. she gave me a guide book. in a guide book there are many things to learn and to discuss like :

The work of Labor- is done by your uterus, often called the womb. The uterus is the hallow sac of muscles in which your baby grows during pregnancy.
What is Labor- is the time when your uterus contracts to bring about the birth of your baby. Contractions of the uterus are often called "labor pains". Labor contractions soften, shorten and open the cervix and push your baby and the placenta out of your body.
What happen in Labor? There are three stage to labor.
During the first stage of labor = The contractions of the uterus thin and open the cervix, stretching it over your baby's head.
During the second stage of labor= contractions of the uterus push your baby through the vagina and out of your body.
During the third stage of labor= labor is the time when the placenta is delivered.
Kinds of Birth:
Vaginal Delivery
Forceps Birth
Cesarean Birth

My husband and I attended for baby care 101 today it teaches us how to take care of the baby when its newborn until the baby growing up. I learned a lot in there to bath the baby, to change diaper, how to burp, how to swaddle and many more. and now i have so much in my mind for our coming baby to how to take care of it.

I’ve done with the ultrasound today. the result was great my baby is so healthy and strong. i have a little “girl” coming. Her name is Catherine Jean u can call her CJ, Cathy or anything for nickname! I was so happy because I was with my husband and in-laws. They are excited and more supportive its their first grand daughter. And then we went shopping for my baby. for now there are so much thoughts in my head on what the baby looks like, and how to take care of her when she's born. but im sure i will be happy to have her.

PREGGY TIME!

My last period was October 25th. It was already end of November and I don't have period yet.so I asked my husband to buy pregnancy test. I remember we hide it because bro and girlfriend are coming home and we don't want them to know. so we went to the bathroom and test my urine after a minute it appears "PREGNANT". My husband and I staring each other and we can't believe it. all I can say it just really.. is this real? is there really baby growing inside my tummy? I can't believe it. then I close my eyes and pray, Thanks God for the blessing. so my husband and I hugging and kiss each other. So this time my husband talk to me to keep it secret because he plan to surprise his family on christmas. Last Christmas we announced that I am pregnant. after we opening our presents my husband give them a card and say " little one is on the way" my Mom was really shocked and speechless. I know they are all happy because that's the greatest gift I gave to them. They really want a grand children and same to my family in province too. They are all happy to me. My wish was granted! During my pregnancy my first trimester was so bad. I was really sick. I have morning sickness. I really so maarte that time. I always smell bad, always vomit and am really craving for food. It's too bad coz the food I want is nothing in here. I really pray that hope I will be better soon. Later on day comes by my baby growing and my tummy getting bigger. I feel better this time no more morning sickness, no more vomiting and i stop craving for food. I was thankful because I didn't feel sick anymore. Now i am already 27 weeks. 6 months already. 3 months to go and I will have my baby. how exciting is that? well, just goodluck to me for becoming a new Mommy.

During saturday I usually doing laundry so I did laundry today. but my husband think to add items in our registry so we plan to go target and babiesRus. when we left, we decided to look for asian market first here in fort collins but we didn't see much stuff in there. mostly korean and jappanese stuff in there so we only get ice cream. we also went to once apon a child. its a store for baby stuff mostly cheap items but we didn't get any coz i dont know, nothing that i like. i mostly like clothes but we got some clothes for the baby already.When we are in target we add some items in there but my feet start getting sore from walking so we decided to go home instead. while at home i continue doing my laundry . im getting tired so i took a nap. my day was busy during saturday but usually on the weekdays my life is bored coz im always alone in the house and sometimes nothing to do. Tonight I look up for another recipe on internet . I'm interested to cook another dish which is good to learn. so i write it down to my notebook. I hope i can cook the other recipe sometimes!

BIRTHDAY PARTY!

My husband and I went to birthday party tonight with one of my friends here in Fort Collins. I have so much fun while watching them singing and dancing with magic sing. Ate Teresa was making fun with the songs, that's why were laughing so much. the food there was wonderful. I like the humba (pork stew) i got a little and bring it home. I can't wait to eat it again tomorrow. yum! I'm glad i had a great time tonight.

Legs cramps!

My left leg was cramp today. it was still 5:30 in the morning and i woke up with cramps. its really hurt i almost cry but i tried to control myself and relax. so i massage my leg to relieve the pain. it usually happen to me because i am pregnant. I experience this two times already. in the www.babycenter.com says that, thats why i am experiencing this because I'm carring exta weight and my expanding uterus is putting pressure on the veins that return blood from my legs to my heart as well as on the nerves leading from my trunk to my legs. Unfortunately, the cramps may get worse as my pregnancy progresses. Leg cramps are more common at night but can also happen during the day.

I cooked pork soup today. I eat a lot and i am very full. when im the bathroom i was looking at the mirror. I look bigger. so I plan to take picture with myself.so I took picture and post into friendster! I was really shocked " I am Big" then tonight my friend Nescel messages me she said.. hey Del you look big and i said yeah.. hehehe! thats how it is! I need to gain weight. I need to get more nutrience for my growing baby but after when having a baby i will do diet naman.After were done for dinner we continue doing for baby shower invitation. i finally got the addresses, thanks for my friend lerio. so my hubby printed out and finish it.

My day was busy today. after we went to church we go home to relax a little and in one hour we went to Eric and Michelle engagement party. I'm the only filipina girl there, but all people are nice to me. Bro
Eric introduced us to all his friends which is nice. I only eat a little in there because I know i will go to baby shower party of one of my friend which is lots of pinoy food. I met a girl there her name is Lorie and we talked a little.In half hour we leave the place and went to baby shower party. when I got there i'm 30 minutes late already. all the people eating and chatting. It was wonderful party. All the people enjoyed the food, the game and the time. After the party, mechel, lerio and I talking about my baby shower. were planning where to held my baby shower. for the time and what day. so we decided to have my baby shower at mechel's house.

This is our childbirth class appointment. It was nice because i learned many things in there since I'm first time parent. we did cleansing breath, massages, birth position, taking class for vaginal delivery and cesarean also about medication on what to apply for pain during labor. We woke up early today for my appointment. we went to the place. I thought it was crowded and busy there but it's not. It's just a short time and it was fast. everything is organized. When im finished we went to TJ Maxx where many things on sale. I bought bed sheet stuff and maternity clothes. after that we went to Baskin Robbins. a place for ice cream lots of flavors in there. since we had a coupon we used it to get discount. I got nutty coconut and baseball nut with waffle bowl. It was really yummy! After that we went to Red lobster to met in-laws. this is our late celebration for mother's day. I really had a great time today!

I woke up early today to prepare and to cook for my visitors. My friend Mechel help me to cook like chicken curry, menudo, meatloaf and pancit. and I also cook for tamarind soup and pork soup. I also made pineapple cake upside down. I'm glad all my visitors likes it. I only have 11 few visitors and were just 13 girls. were having fun by taking pictures ,eating and chatting anything. I just want to thank you for all wonderful gifts you given us for my baby. I'm sure she is happy right now. I really appreciated from the bottom of my heart. I'm sure when the baby is born, I can use all the gifts you gave. Thanks a lot!
Thank you also from Mechel because she helped me from cooking and helped from other stuffed we needed to do. Thanks also from her husband John for driving to go grocery and help us for decorating and blowing the ballons. Thanks also from Mae for helping us to cut the veggies. I would like to thank also from Mj for the nice cake. Once again thank you very much guys!
